Our Classroom

This is our classroom. Our first writing piece is a personal narrative; they're displayed on the closet doors. We went through the five steps of The Writing Process. First we did a Pre-Write, next, we wrote our Draft, then, we Revised by ourselves, then, our teacher Proofread our paper with us, last, we Published (and illustrated) and Presented. We took turns sharing our story.

Our culminating activity for Topic One of Math is on the bulletin board. We used a Part, Part, Whole model to show we understand addition and subtraction.

Egg Hunt

Before Spring Break we had an egg hunt. First, we decorated a bag to put our eggs in. Then, we went to the upper apparatus area to hunt for eggs. It was easy to find most of the eggs but, some were hidden pretty well. Thank you to the parents who helped hide the eggs. After the hunt we went to the Parent Center to have some ice cream prepared by Mrs. Garcia. She baked some crust, put a scoop of vanilla ice cream in the center, and a small scoop of orange sherbert on the very top. It looked like a broken egg! It was yummy! We also had fruit punch. Thanks Mrs. Garcia! After eating, we divided our findings so that everyone had about the same amount. We also made a rabbit made out of foam. Thanks Miss Tamrazian for showing us how it's done. We had a lot of fun!

Music Class

We have been learning about different types of instruments and the family which they belong. The different families are the string, woodwind, brass, and percussion. We watched a video of Peter and the Wolf. The characters didn't talk, instead, they were represented by a different instrument sound. At first, it was challenging to listen to and remember the different types of instruments that represented the characters. After a while, we began to remember and figure out which instrument was being played.
