We recently had our school Spelling Bee. Two of us in Room D placed in the Spelling Bee. Take a look at our winning classmates.

Our Spirit Award

Our class was the winner of the Spirit Award. Because our class had the highest number of students bringing in pictures of our pets, we received a special gift.



We welcome our hamster. Her name is Bugsy, and she is now a part of our class.

Our Classroom Podcast

We just had Open House on April 28, 2009. As part of what we did to show what we are learning in first grade, we recorded our first podcast episode using PhotoStory, which covers what we did at the Los Angeles Zoo. We're Going on an Egg Hunt!

We will be on Spring break beginning April 6, 2009. We finished today with an egg (and candy) hunt. We had a great time!

Celebrating the Birthday of Dr. Seuss

On March 2, 2009, our school celebrated the Birthday of Dr. Seuss. Our class joined by creating a display of Gerald McBoing Boing and making our own "Cat in the Hat"-style hats. We also had special visitors read to us as part of Read Across America. See what we and the rest of our school did for this fun day.

Field Trip to the Los Angeles Zoo

On February 20, 2009, we went to the Los Angeles Zoo. With digital cameras, we went all over the place and took pictures of some of the animals we saw. We also took pictures of ourselves.
