Welcome Second Graders - Class of 2012-2013!  Class, you are in for a great year.  The PTA, Teachers and Student Council have planned a fun-filled and academically enriched year.  Make sure you come to school everyday so you don't miss-out on any of the events!

April Student of the Month

Congratulations to our Student of the Month.  She is a kind and safe citizen.  She is respectful, she follows directions the first time they are given.  She is responsible, she completes and turns in all of her work on time.  She has a resilient spirit, she tries hard and does not give up.  Continue the hard work and perseverance!

Art with Mr. Radsch

We had our first art lesson with our art teacher, Mr. Radsch.  We learned about the six elements of art, we wrote them down in our Art Journal.  Next week we will learn about making a landscape.

March Student of the Month

Congratulations to our Student of the Month. She is the only one who has received the Student of the Week award twice, from our class this year. She continues to strive in class. She is a very responsible learner. She makes sure she's engaged in our lessons. What set her apart from others lately is her ability to use complete sentences when answering comprehension questions. She answers in a clear, thoughtful and intelligent manner. Keep up the spectacular job!

Congratulations to our Student of the Week. He has been safe, respectful and responsible. He has been doing his work independently in class and has been turning them in on time. He was ill for a couple of days but was focused when he came back to class. Upon his return, he did the classwork he missed in class as well as the homework. Keep up the hard work!

Congratulations to our February Student of the Month. She is an excellent student . She is an interested and responsible learner. She does all of her work independently and turns them in on time. She reads fluently with the correct intonations, her printing is very neat, and she contributes greatly to our class discussions. She excels in all subject areas. Keep up the awesome job!

Congratulations to our Student of the Week. She has been safe, responsible and respectful. She has been a kind friend and hard worker. She comes to school everyday, on time, and ready to learn. She is focused and stays on task. She tries to do all assignments and finish on time. She is so dedicated to school that she came and stayed in school the day after the hard Santa Ana Winds hit. That day she did all of her work, writing, reading, and math, despite the lack of electricity and rattled nerves. Keep up the GREAT WORK!

2011 Holiday Activities

Take a look at some of our holiday activities. We made Christmas trees. Mrs. Morales led us in a holiday activity. Santa came to visit and gave us gingerbread cookies. Our holiday song was "Do You Hear What I Hear?" We had our holiday dance in the auditorium.
