It's no trick - these are my little treats! Here we are getting ready to go to Delevan Drive's Annual Costume Parade and Contest. Congratulations to our "Edward Scissor Hands", she won the ribbon for "Scariest Costume" among all of the second graders!

Our Student of the Month for November 2010


Congratulations to our November Student of the Month! She has excelled in the three "A's", Attendance, Academics, and Attitude. She has been a model student. She has been coming to school everyday, on time, and ready to learn. She has been alert and aware of all of the things happening in class and in school. She has been doing very well in her assessments because she has been very careful in checking her answers on her tests.

Congratulations to our Student of the Week for the week of October 25, 2010. In addition to being safe, being respectful, and being responsible, our S.O.T.W. has been very sweet and a pleasure to have in class. She has a positive and uplifting attitude. She always has her beautiful smile on her face and kind words for others. She used her prior knowledge to act upon any social or academic task - she used her common sense.

Our Student of the Week for the week of October 18, 2010 has been focused and thorough. She concentrated on her work and took pride in it. She turned in neat and correct work. This is in addition to being safe, being respectful, and being responsible. Congratulations!

Music Class

Here we are in Music Class. We are learning the vocabulary words for musical symbols. We are learning how to count beats and read music notes. We are learning how to make our voices go up and down. We learned that an ostinato means to sing a part of a song over and over again.

Dance Class

Here we are in Dance Class. We are learning to combine a series of movements in our self space and in general space. We are learning to move in low, middle, and high space. We need to do this in sixteen counts. We also use scarves.

Our Student of the Week for the week of October 11, 2010


Our Student of the Week for the week of October 11, 2010 has done a marvelous job on being engaged in all of our class activities, all day long. In addition to being safe, being responsible and being respectful, he continually tries to converse with the class and, the teacher about the topic at hand. He works carefully and diligently. He often proofreads and edits his work. Congratulations, keep up the great school spirit!

Congratulations to Our First Student of the Month!


Our Student of the Month for September 2010 was chosen because she has been safe, respectful, and responsible. She came to school everyday, on time, she turned in all of her work on time, she looked, listened and consistently participated in class discussions. She was kind to her peers and has been a model citizen. In addition, she often used the vocabulary words we've learned in Math to answer/solve math questions.

Congratulations to our Student of the Week for the week of October 4, 2010. He has done a fabulous job in fulfilling all of the requirements to receive the award. In addition to being safe, respectful, and responsible, he has been very focused in his school work. He has ignored distractions from talkative neighbors and has been contributing to class discussions.

Student of the Week



Congratulations to our first Student of the Week (S.O.T.W.). She was the S.O.T.W. for the week of September 20, 2010. The first week in a new grade, room, and with a new teacher can be pretty tough. She did an excellent job being a good role model. She was picked because she was safe, respectful, and responsible. She was kind to her classmates, she followed directions the first time they were given and, she looked, listened and participated in class.















Our Student of the Week for the week of September 27, 2010 did an excellent job fulfilling the three criteria necessary to be considered for the award (Be Safe, Be Respectful, and Be Responsible). She was kind to her peers, was constantly focused and often participated in all classroom activities. Congratulations!
